Wassim Slama and Najd Ajroud have decided to represent Tunisia. Their inclusion in the national squad was officially announced on Monday, September 29, by the Tunisian Football Federation in Tunis, just days before the release of the squad list for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Wassim Slama, an attacking midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, and Najd Ajroud, a playmaker for AS Monaco, have been brought into the Eagles of Carthage setup. The Tunisian Football Federation finalized their commitment ahead of the October international break, which coincides with the final two matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign.

Born in France in 2008, Slama has stood out for his technical ability and vision on the pitch. Featuring for PSG's U19 side, he has netted three goals in four appearances and was included in the senior squad last May.

For his part, 17-year-old Najd Ajroud came up through the youth systems at Bar-sur-Loup, Valbonne, and Aix before joining Monaco. He has scored once in six outings with Monaco's U17s and also bagged a brace against Nice in a friendly match.

Sami Trabelsi's official squad list will be unveiled on October 2 at the FTF headquarters. Already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, Tunisia will face Sao Tome and Principe and Namibia on October 10 and 13 in Radès. These two fixtures could offer Slama and Ajroud their first chance to don the national colors.
