Valencia to don 1991-92 style orange kit for LaLiga retro round at Elche | OneFootball

Valencia will take part in LaLiga’s retro round, reviving an orange strip inspired by the 1991-92 season for their trip to Elche.

The visit to Elche requires an away option because the hosts wear white. Tribuna Deportiva reports that the updated shirt will feature the club’s current sponsors rather than period advertising.

Valencia trailed the reveal on Tuesday night with a vintage-style video featuring a hard drive and the club crest.

Valencia again wear Puma, the brand behind several of their kits in the 1990s. It is not yet clear whether other LaLiga teams will go with vintage advertising or keep their current sponsors.

The 1991-92 shirt was worn by a side that positioned Valencia to compete for Europe and challenge the leading clubs. The current squad will have the chance to wear that look at Elche.
