Van Oevelen and Wellenreuther shine as Volendam hold Feyenoord | OneFootball

Volendam and Feyenoord played out a 0-0 draw at Kras Stadion, with the visitors staying second in the Eredivisie.

Early on, a brief stoppage for Gonçalo Borges broke the rhythm before chances arrived on the stroke of half time. Kayne van Oevelen denied Jordan Bos with a low stop, then Timon Wellenreuther foiled Anthony Descotte in first half stoppage time.

After the restart, Joel Ideho forced another save from Wellenreuther, and Descotte drew the goalkeeper into action again as Volendam pushed for a breakthrough.

Robin van Persie's changes added late width. Aymen Sliti soon delivered a teasing cross that Tsuyoshi Watanabe headed goalwards, only for van Oevelen to claw it away. Deep in second half stoppage time, Ayase Ueda's header was also saved by the Volendam keeper.

Volendam mustered 13 attempts with four on target as their threat grew after the interval. Feyenoord produced 17 attempts and four on target but could not find a finish against a packed defence.
