Vasco have reached 15 departures in the last two months, with Victor Luís’ move to Mirassol being arranged. According to Globo.com, the clear-out targeted out-of-plan players and trimmed the wage bill.

Making room was a priority after last season, and an overhaul began late in 2025 focused mainly on the bench.

No goalkeeper left. Exits by position were right-back Paulinho, centre-backs Oliveira, Mauricio Lemos and Lyncon, left-backs Victor Luís, Leandrinho and Riquelme, holding midfielders Sforza and Paulinho, attacking midfielders Maxime and Ray, wingers Garré and Jean David, and forwards Rayan and Vegetti.

Of the 15, only Rayan and Vegetti had been in the 2026 plan, though their departures were already anticipated. Rayan was the team’s reference but hard to keep amid European interest, while Vegetti earned too much to be a reserve.

The exits have opened space for stronger signings. At left-back, three departures paved the way for Cuiabano, leaving two firm options competing rather than four with one clear favourite.

No one is currently out of the club’s plans. Adson, Tchê Tchê and David are considered negotiable, but talks for the latter pair did not advance, and both remain bench options. Matheus França, a high earner on loan from Crystal Palace, has underwhelmed, and ending the deal has been discussed, though he has not been discarded.

GB, JP and Estrella remain but have lost ground after the window. GB now competes with Brenner and Spinelli up front, while JP and Estrella are behind Coutinho, Rojas and others.
