Vasco da Gama have secured the permanent signing of João Vitor, previously on loan until June. According to PaponaColina, an agreement with Nova Iguaçu confirms his stay through a partnership model. The player has asked to drop the nickname "Mutano" and be known by his given name.

Vasco will pay nothing now for his registration. The clubs will share his economic rights equally, with any future sale reflecting that split.

The contract includes performance-related triggers that, if met, will oblige Vasco to buy a larger share later. The structure protects Nova Iguaçu and lets Vasco back the player without straining this window’s budget.

The decision was shaped by his tactical value. A natural right winger, João Vitor has stood out in the state championship while filling in at left-back, one of the squad’s thinnest positions.

He has quickly earned the coaching staff’s trust. With Lucas Piton attracting interest from Europe and the club seeking reinforcements, a versatile in-house option prompted the club to act quickly.
