Vasco strike deal with Nova Iguaçu to sign João Victor permanently

Vasco have reached an agreement with Nova Iguaçu to sign João Victor, known as Mutano, on a permanent deal, according to Globo.com.

Mutano joined Vasco in 2024 on loan from Nova Iguaçu’s under-20s. That loan had been due to run until June.

Vasco will not pay an immediate fee. The clubs have split the player’s economic rights evenly, 50% each. The contract includes targets that, if met, would trigger bonus payments to Nova Iguaçu.

João Victor has impressed Fernando Diniz at the start of the Carioca. A natural wide attacker who prefers the right flank, he has been used at left-back. The coach valued his personality across two outings.

He made his first-team debut for Vasco against Nova Iguaçu, replacing Victor Luís.
