Aston Villa are reportedly monitoring Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki as Juventus links around Emiliano Martinez resurface, and Walsall are understood to be closing on St Johnstone midfielder Sven Sprangler.

The Daily Record reported that Walsall have agreed a deal subject to a work visa, with St Johnstone willing to let the 31-year-old depart and the move dependent on paperwork. He spent last season on loan at League Two Newport County, where he is understood to have caught Walsall’s eye.

Villa are said to be tracking the Japan international, who has established himself as Parma’s first-choice. The Serie A club are understood to value the 23-year-old at €25 million to €30 million.

Meanwhile, Juventus continue to be linked with Villa’s current number one Martinez. The 33-year-old is said to have agreed personal terms with the Turin club on a three-year contract running until 2029.

Suzuki joined Parma on a permanent deal in July 2024, signing a five-year contract after an initial loan. Before moving to Europe, he came through the ranks at Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan.
