Villarreal eye Fer Niño windfall as Elche talks continue, Dani Budesca option assessed | OneFootball

Villarreal are closely tracking talks that could hand them a sizeable windfall if Burgos striker Fer Niño joins Elche.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Burgos and Elche are negotiating a fee starting at €4 million. Villarreal retain 30% of the 25-year-old’s rights, which would be worth about €1.2 million, potentially more if add-ons apply or the fixed sum rises. No agreement has been announced.

Niño, 1.91 metres, left Villarreal in 2023 seeking regular football and has since established himself in Segunda. He is contracted to Burgos until June 2029 after an August 2025 renewal, and produced seven goals and one assist in 2025/26. Elche want attacking reinforcements, while Burgos are seeking at least that figure for a key asset.

For Villarreal, the move would again validate their Miralcamp model, easing exits for prospects while keeping sell-on percentages. In Niño’s case, that policy could deliver more than €1 million without altering the current squad.

The forward rose through Villarreal’s ranks, reached the first team and was part of the Europa League-winning group in 2021. He later spent a loan spell at Mallorca, returned to feature for Villarreal B in Segunda, then joined Burgos. A switch to Elche would return him to Primera and bring fresh income to La Cerámica.

Separately, Villarreal are weighing options for right-back Dani Budesca from the B team after Osasuna showed interest following Valentin Rosier’s muscle injury. The 20-year-old, under contract until June 2027, has other suitors and Osasuna are considering several candidates. Villarreal must choose whether to renew and loan him for minutes, or sanction a sale while reserving a future percentage.
