Villarreal, chaired by Fernando Roig, held a partial evacuation drill at the Estadio de la Cerámica, underscoring the club’s priority to protect supporters and staff at matches and events.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the exercise was designed to test the existing Plan de Autoprotección and to assess whether the stadium’s technical and human resources are adequate for an emergency response.
The drill, coordinated by the club’s Operations and Security department led by Manuel Casarrubio, simulated a fire evacuation inside the venue.
All resources included in the Plan de Actuación de Emergencias took part, alongside about 100 volunteers made up of club employees and IES Miralcamp de Vila-real students. Participants were placed in the Grada de Preferencia Baja and the mobility-reduced area, the specific zones used for the drill.
The objectives were to gauge response effectiveness, train assigned personnel for emergency scenarios, evaluate the suitability of available resources, and verify the adequacy of established procedures.
