Virgil van Dijk has refused to put a timeframe on his contract negotiations with Liverpool but admitted there is still no update on his future with the club.
Van Dijk is approaching the final six months of his contract and has already turned down Liverpool's opening offer of an extension, with the terms on the table not satisfactory to the 33-year-old.
It means the Dutchman is just days away from being able to discuss a contract with clubs overseas, and there is likely to be no shortage of interest in Van Dijk if he does become available as a free agent.
Despite the fact the clock is winding down, Van Dijk insisted he will not put a deadline on his decision.
Confirming there are no updates on his situation, Van Dijk told reporters: "There is no deadline at all. We will see what the future brings."
Van Dijk again insisted his focus remains solely on on-field issues, starting with Liverpool's visit from Leicester City on Boxing Day.
"I focus on Leicester," he said. "Going home as soon as possible to see my family and have a nice couple of days and then full focus on Leicester. That is the only thing I am thinking about."
Van Dijk's contract update comes shortly after Mohamed Salah also confirmed there is nothing new to say about his own negotiations over an extension.
