The 39-year-old was the third man to take charge of the first team squad during 2025/26 after both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay failed to deliver results.

The former took on his first role in management when he arrived at the Hawthorns last summer after spending time with Tottenham Hotspur, but he was dismissed in January as the team slid down the table.

Ramsay lasted just 44 days as West Brom head coach, failing to win any of his nine matches in the dugout.

But Morrison led the Baggies to four wins, six draws and just two defeats from his 12 games as head coach, which lifted the team away from the relegation zone.

Albion will now be focusing on the summer transfer window after they finished 21st in the Championship table.

It has been reported by the Daily Record that West Brom have had a bid rejected for Falkirk’s Barney Stewart.

It’s believed that an offer worth seven figures was lodged by the West Midlands outfit, but it wasn’t enough to seal an agreement.

Albion are understood to still be well short of the Scottish side’s valuation of the striker, who is also attracting interest from rival clubs.

The 22-year-old has a long-term contract with the Premiership side, giving them a strong amount of leverage in these negotiations.

Stewart has enjoyed a strong campaign after returning to Falkirk in January from his loan spell at Dunfermline.

He’s contributed eight goals and two assists from 17 league appearances, with the season set to conclude this weekend.

It remains to be seen whether West Brom will be willing to increase their offer for Stewart as they look to bolster their attacking options over the summer.

linked with a move ahead of this summer's transfer window.

The 22-year-old’s reputation has risen rapidly this year, and there are now even calls for him to receive a call-up to the Scotland national team for the World Cup in North America.

A solid showing across the Atlantic could enhance his reputation even further, and with it his transfer value.

So it could be in West Brom’s best interests to try and wrap this deal up early despite there still being plenty of time left to reach an agreement before the market shuts.

Stewart’s performances have helped Falkirk rise to sixth in the Premiership table after they gained promotion last year.

Barney Stewart signing has potential for West Brom

Josh Maja and Daryl Dike have been hard to depend on for West Brom due to injury issues over the last couple of seasons, so it’s not surprising that another forward is being sought.

Stewart has taken the Premiership by storm since returning to Falkirk in January, and if he can carry that level of performance to the Championship then he could be a great signing.

But Falkirk hold a strong negotiating position, and it may be in their best interests to wait and see how the summer unfolds before committing to the sale of an important player.

If West Brom want to get this deal done quickly, then they may have to up their offer by a fair amount more than they were anticipating.
