West Ham are exploring a late move in the transfer window as talks continue over a loan deal for Chelsea defender Axel Disasi (27), according to reports from Sky Sports.
The Hammers are understood to be in discussions over a straight loan until the end of the season, as they look to strengthen their defensive options following Igor Julio’s return to Brighton. With depth at centre-back now a priority, West Ham have been assessing several targets in recent weeks.
Disasi joined Chelsea in 2023 but has failed to impress and was most recently on loan at Aston Villa. However, his availability presents an attractive short-term solution for West Ham, who are keen to add physicality at the heart of their defence without committing to a permanent deal at this stage.
Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis has also been considered, but the Championship club are believed to be unwilling to sell, narrowing West Ham’s options as the window enters its final days.
Negotiations for Disasi are ongoing, with no agreement yet in place, but West Ham remain hopeful of concluding a deal that would bolster their squad for the run-in. As the clock ticks down, the club are weighing urgency against value in a bid to reinforce their back line.
