Tottenham Hotspur look to bounce back from a home defeat to Everton in the WSL this weekend as they travel to league leaders Manchester City.

And Spurs head coach Martin Ho knows it’ll be a tough prospect.

Reflecting on last weekend’s 2-1 loss, he told reporters on Friday morning: “We can have an off day. We can’t have too many of them and I don’t think we’ve had too many of them if I’m honest.

“You have to embrace it, you have to look at it and evaluate what we’ve done. I evaluated as a coach on how we approach the game, how we set up and what we’ve done – and that lies with me and then making sure we go into this game with confidence and belief to put that result right.”

Martin Ho: Manchester City are tactically dynamic

Manchester City themselves also had a little blip, drawing 0-0 with Aston Villa in their first match after the international break – but Ho will not be lulled into a false sense of security.

“They’re so much more dynamic tactically,” he said of this weekend’s opponents and how they have developed this season under Andree Jeglertz. “They’re so much more versatile tactically.

“And then you have some really good cutting edge. If you look at their goal scorers, I think they’ve had, I don’t know, 8, 9, 10 different goal scorers in the season, so their goals are coming from an array of areas on the pitch and they have a very dangerous front line and midfield backing that up, and then their depth within the squad supports that.

“But I think more of their tactical flexibility and their freedom in their players is something that you can definitely see.”

And of last weekend’s goalless draw in Birmingham, Ho said: “I think they maybe had a little bit of an off day against Aston Villa, but that doesn’t make us prepare for anything less. We prepare for Man City at the best when they’re scoring, when they’re fluid, and when they’re very offensive, and then when they’re organised defensively and hard to beat.”
