Former striker insists the Egyptian still has more to give

Why is Mohamed Salah being criticised? Peter Crouch gives his view
Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch said he is confused by recent criticism of Mohamed Salah and believes the Egyptian can still deliver more.
Former Peter Crouch has spoken out in support of Mohamed Salah admitting he is puzzled by the recent debate surrounding the Liverpool star’s form.
In comments published by Liverpool.com, Crouch described Salah as world-class player and said he would like to see him remain at Liverpool beyond the current season.
He added that Salah still has unfinished business at the club and would not want to leave in the current circumstances.
Crouch pointed out that Salah has shown signs of improvement in recent matches. While acknowledging that the winger went through difficult period before and after the Africa Cup of Nations, he stressed that the situation has changed.
According to the former striker, Salah is not yet back to his absolute best but his level has clearly risen.
Crouch rejected any suggestion that the decline is linked to fitness or physical issues saying Salah does not look slower or out of shape and remains capable of producing another strong season.
Despite the criticism, Salah continues to deliver important numbers. During the match against Sunderland last week, he provided assist for Virgil van Dijk reaching 92 assist for Liverpool.
That tally saw Salah equal the long-standing record of Steven Gerrard underlining his lasting influence at the club.
Liverpool now preparing for their next Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest scheduled to take place on Sunday 1 February at the City Ground.
