According to reports from The Athletic, Tutto Juve, and Bianconera News, former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has offered candid reflections on his career choices and time in Turin, while current Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso has shared his honest thoughts following Italy’s recent win over Moldova.

Speaking to The Athletic, Rabiot discussed the path that led him from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus, and now to Olympique Marseille under Roberto De Zerbi. Rabiot revealed he came close to joining Manchester United last year but turned down the move, citing concerns over the club’s trajectory. “I was a bit reluctant. With their current situation I wasn’t sure they would keep doing great things, I have no regrets about it,” he said. Rabiot emphasized satisfaction with his career choices, recalling his success in Paris and highlighting both the trophies and personal growth he found in Turin. “At Juventus, I won, and I learned a lot. It was an important step—where I matured and absorbed the mentality you develop at Juve: work, selflessness, sacrifice. These things become part of you,” he reflected.

Rabiot also praised his current coach at Marseille, Roberto De Zerbi, noting a quick connection and appreciation for De Zerbi’s detailed tactical work. On former United loanee Greenwood, Rabiot said, “If he hadn’t had all his problems, he’d be at the level of Bellingham. He’s an exceptional player.”

Meanwhile, Andrea Cambiaso provided a view from inside the Italian national setup after scoring in Italy’s victory against Moldova. Cambiaso’s goal—a right-footed finish from inside the area—came after a challenging second half of the season with Juventus and could offer a boost of confidence ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. Despite finding the net, Cambiaso was direct about recent results and the team’s mood. “We are the first to be disappointed, we wanted to do better than this,” he told Rai.

The match marked the end of Luciano Spalletti’s tenure as head coach—a departure Cambiaso described with regret: “We certainly wanted to say goodbye to him in a better way. He’s a great coach and has shown real passion for the sport. We’re sorry he’s gone.” Cambiaso maintained that the squad remained committed to pursuing World Cup qualification: “Yes, of course, we’ll try as always. So far results have been negative, but every time we go out there, we want to win. It’s part of the sport.”

For Juventus, Cambiaso’s return to scoring may carry extra significance, given his tough club form in recent months and the club’s ambition to perform well in the coming Club World Cup. His display for Italy could be a sign of renewed confidence at just the right time.
