With an eye on 2026, Corinthians announce first futsal signing

On the afternoon of this Tuesday (10th), Corinthians officially announced the signing of pivot Fabinho, 37 years old, as the first reinforcement for the futsal team aiming for the 2026 season, in which the team will compete in the following tournaments: Supercopa Gramado, Liga Nacional de Futsal, and Campeonato Paulista. The athlete arrives at Parque São Jorge after two seasons with Praia Clube, from Uberlândia, Minas Gerais.

According to the statistics released by the website Ogol, Fabinho was the top scorer for Praia Clube last season, scoring 25 goals in 40 matches. The previous year, for the same club, he found the net 23 times in 47 games. After the retirement of Deives and the departure of Israel Neto, Rick was the only pivot in the Corinthians squad, which will now also count on the new reinforcement in this position.

Fabinho is already integrated into the professional futsal squad's training sessions at Corinthians. For 2026, the club's futsal department is undergoing budget cuts and is expected to rely on players from its youth academy. Besides the departures of Deives and Israel Neto, the following players have also left Parque São Jorge: defender Marlon, and wingers Igor Carioca, Luisinho, Edimar, and Luizinho Brizzi.

In the first days of January, Corinthians traveled to Japan for a tour and played friendlies against Nagoya Oceans and F-League All-Stars, losing 3-0 and drawing 2-2, respectively. The Alvinegro's matches also featured the presence of Gaviões Japão, the Japanese branch of Gaviões da Fiel in Brazil and the club's main supporters' group.

In addition to Praia Clube, Fabinho has played for the following clubs: Taubaté (2014-2018 and 2022-2023), Carlos Barbosa (2017), Campo Mourão (2019-2021).

New Reinforcement on the Way

According to information from Rádio Coringão, Corinthians is close to signing left winger Kevin Willian, 23 years old, who was at Ferroviária Pinda, a team that faced Alvinegro in the semifinals of the last Campeonato Paulista in the category. Last season, he scored nine goals in 16 games in the state championship. In addition, he won the Copa da Liga Paulista de Futsal (LPF).

Previously, he played for Inter Mogi, where he was voted the best player of the 2023 edition of the LPF Under-20.
