Wolves have confirmed their retained and released list, choosing not to sign Angel Gomes permanently and finalising Ladislav Krejci’s permanent move.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Gomes’ season-long loan from Marseille included an option worth six million pounds that will not be taken up, so he returns to his parent club. Krejci’s Girona loan cost six million pounds and is now becoming permanent for a further 20 million pounds after an appearances threshold was met.

Matt Doherty’s previously announced exit has been ratified in the update. There remains interest from Leeds and other clubs in signing Krejci this summer.

Academy graduate Dexter Lembikisa has left after nine years, having joined at 13 and debuting for the first team in November 2022. The Jamaica international had loans at Rotherham United, Hearts, Yverdon-Sport, Barnsley and Lincoln City.

Technical director Matt Jackson said injuries at crucial moments, including during a spell in Switzerland, meant Lembikisa’s pathway stalled, and that moving on now suits both parties. He praised the defender’s professionalism and wished him a long and successful career.

Seven further academy players have departed, with Ty Barnett, Harvey Griffiths, Arthur Nasta, Bjorn Marwa, David Osifo, Fabian Salmon and Jake Wilcox moving on. A new deal has been offered to Conor McLeod.

Jackson added that under-21 limits and over-21 squad rules shaped decisions on Barnett and Griffiths. He noted goalkeeper pathways are unique, highlighted Nasta’s senior football in non-league with Hornchurch, and said the club will create chances for prospects Jimmy Storer, Lewys Benjamin and Josh Gracey.
