Third time's the charm! Following the title-winning campaigns of the Women's Primavera and the Men's Under-15 side, AC Milan are celebrating another youth Scudetto as the 2025/26 season draws to a close. This time, the honours belong to the Women's Under-15 team, who defeated Roma 2-0 in the final in Milano Marittima to successfully defend the title they won last season against Juventus. It is AC Milan's third championship in the category, having also lifted the trophy in 2022/23, with two outstanding goals from Ludovica Melgrati and Irene Quaglia sealing another memorable triumph.
The title is the perfect reflection of the hard work put in by Roberto Bottiglieri's squad throughout the season, a side that had several players competing above their age group in the final. Though 2011 is the cut-off year of birth for the age group, AC Milan's matchday squad featured seven players born in 2012 and five born in 2013, three of whom started the match. It is a talented, winning group with significant room for further development and one that looks to have a bright future ahead. Well done, girls!
MATCH REPORT The Rossonere produced a performance full of personality and determination, despite fielding a younger side than their opponents. They were particularly impressive in the opening period, the first of three 25-minute thirds. Their first chances came from corners, with Marinari (8') and Campanella (11') both sending headers narrowly off target. The breakthrough, however, felt inevitable and arrived in spectacular fashion in the 15th minute: from more than 30 metres out and from a wide position, Melgrati unleashed a thunderous right-footed free-kick that gave goalkeeper Brugi no chance. The opener lifted AC Milan, who came close to doubling their advantage before the first break through efforts from Marinari and Schense, but the score remained 1-0.
The second period was played at a slower tempo, although Campanella struck the post in the 27th minute following a fortunate rebound. Both coaches looked to change the course of the game with substitutions, but the scoreline remained unchanged heading into the final third. The Rossonere's attacking intent was finally rewarded again in the 60th minute. After a sustained spell of pressure, Quaglia collected the ball on the edge of the area and produced a magnificent right-footed strike into the top corner to make it 2-0, sparking the celebrations as AC Milan were crowned Women's Under-15 Italian Champions once again.
