Most of Manchester United’s attacks tend to come down the right flank, with Amad utilising his pace and trickery to bamboozle the opposition.

Matheus Cunha started on the left against Everton, and while his incredible pass led to Benjamin Sesko‘s winner, the truth is that the Brazilian is not a natural winger.

He prefers to cut in and shoot, but what the Red Devils need is a winger capable of going either way and someone who can stretch defences and hold the width.

With INEOS preferring players with Premier League experience, the rumour mill has linked the Red Devils with a move for Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Anthony Gordon of Newcastle.

Yan Diomande a serious target for United

However, the Toffees do not want to lose the Senegalese at any cost and are expected to reject any and all summer bids.

This is why the co-owners have been forced to cast a wider net, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande emerging as a potential option.

Now many would have expected Gordon to be a top target owing to his English top flight experience, but reporter Ben Jacobs has a different take on the matter.

As relayed by Teamtalk, United are serious about the Ivorian, but are unlikely to pursue a move for the Magpies star.

Why Yan Diomande is ahead of Gordon

“Man Utd are quite serious about Yan Diomande. I think, speaking to sources, there’s more substance actually in Yan Diomande to Manchester United or possibly Tottenham than there is with Anthony Gordon to Manchester United.”

The England international is likely to cost a bomb, and United are expected to spend big on their midfield revamp, so a high-value winger is unlikely to be high on the agenda.

As for the Bundesliga ace, his price is likely to come down and he is far more prolific as compared to 25-year-old Gordon.

The Newcastle winger has a mere three league goals as compared to Yan Diomande netting eight times in the German top flight. He is only 19, and will keep improving, and would be a better fit for United.
