Corinthians host Palmeiras on Sunday at 20:30 at Neo Química Arena in the seventh round of the Paulistão. For Yuri Alberto, a goal would make him Corinthians' outright leading derby scorer of the decade.

He is level with Roger Guedes on four goals, Guedes did it in six matches, average 0.67, while Yuri needed 13, average 0.31. Rodrigo Garro has two in seven, and Rodrigo Varanda scored once in one. According to Meu Timao, this derby could be a landmark night for the number nine.

His first derby goal arrived in February 2024 in the Paulistão, a 2-2 draw at Arena Barueri. He reduced the deficit before Garro equalised, with Corinthians down to nine men and Gustavo Henrique finishing in goal.

In November 2024, a 2-0 win sparked nine straight Brasileirão victories. Garro struck first from range, then Yuri scored from the Argentine's pass, in a match dubbed the Dérbi da cabeça de porco after a pig's head was thrown on.

February 2025 brought a 1-1 draw at Allianz Parque. Maurício put Palmeiras ahead, Memphis Depay set up Yuri's leveller, and the striker was later sent off. Hugo Souza saved Estêvão's late penalty.

The fourth, and most decisive, came in March 2025, a 1-0 first leg in the Paulistão final at Allianz Parque, Yuri scoring from a Memphis pass. A 0-0 return in Itaquera sealed the title, Corinthians' first trophy in six years.

On Sunday he could net a fifth derby goal to move clear this decade. This season, if he scores four more against Palmeiras, he would equal Sócrates and join the fixture's all-time top ten.
