Zirkzee refuses to train, continues to push to join Roma | OneFootball

Roma’s transfer window has been complicated by Artem Dovbyk’s injury.

The left thigh tendon injury, sustained against Lecce, has proven more serious than expected: the striker will require surgery and will be sidelined for a long time.

This makes things more difficult for Frederic Massara. Despite the arrivals of Robinio Vaz and Donyell Malen, Joshua Zirkzee remains a target.

The signs from Manchester today are encouraging for the Giallorossi: the Dutch striker did not train with his teammates on the eve of Michael Carrick’s debut as United coach.

Zirkzee is dissatisfied and pushing for a return to Italy, having long had a basic agreement with Roma on a loan deal with an option to buy, a deal that would become mandatory if they qualify for the Champions League.

A social media hint further fueled the fire: the player liked the post introducing Malen, his international teammate and the new Giallorossi signing.

However, the deal isn’t over yet. United await Carrick’s final decision, and Roma, for their part, need to free up space in their squad.
