Dusan Vlahovic has made a final attempt to put himself in FC Barcelona’s path, but the club’s priority remains clear: Julian Alvarez.

The Serbian striker is approaching a decisive moment at Juventus, with the Italian club setting 30 June as the deadline for a response on his renewal.

Vlahovic is not expected to accept easily, and his situation has created movement around Europe. With his contract running down, he appears to be looking for a new solution.

According to AS, the 26-year-old has offered himself to Barcelona once more, trying to take advantage of the uncertainty around the club’s difficult pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

Barca are not changing their plan

Barcelona have followed Vlahovic in the past, but the current stance is firm. The club are not planning to move for him now.

There are two main reasons. The first is sporting. Deco and Hansi Flick still see Alvarez as the ideal forward to eventually replace Robert Lewandowski because of his movement, pressing, and ability to connect with the team.

The second is financial. Vlahovic’s salary demands, reportedly around €8 million net, are considered too high for a player who is not the preferred profile.

That matters. Vlahovic is a strong striker with penalty-box presence, but Barcelona are looking for more than a classic number nine.

The club want a forward who can press, combine, rotate positions, and fit around Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and the rest of the young core.

For Barca fans, this is encouraging discipline. In the past, the club often reacted to big names rather than clear needs. This time, they seem determined to follow the plan.

Vlahovic may be available, but availability alone should not drive Barcelona’s market. If Alvarez remains the chosen target, Barca must either fight for him properly or move to alternatives that fit the same idea.
