According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Real Madrid reached a preliminary agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Diomande for 135 million euros, 120 fixed plus 15 in add-ons, which would be a club record. That figure followed rejected offers of 100 million and 120 million and prompted concern in Madrid about the rising cost.
Leipzig have pushed back on claims the deal is done, with their sporting director insisting they have not reached that stage.
The delay is said to relate to the player's image rights and an agent dispute over commissions.
Diomande emerged at AFI Sud Comoé under president Dez Bamba. Blue Crow, linked to a Houston investment group, blocked an Olympiakos move and arranged a pre-contract with Leganés, where he debuted in LaLiga on 29 March 2025.
Leipzig later met his 20 million clause in two instalments, with Blue Crow keeping a sell-on, and he flourished in the Bundesliga. The representation row reignited, with Max Gradel insisting he still has a contract, while Bamba says Diomande signed with Roc Nation Sports after a call from Vinicius. Gradel has taken the case to CAS and Roc Nation has distanced itself, while Leipzig consider Roc Nation their contact and do not think that alone would derail any transfer.
Real Madrid are waiting to complete the move if circumstances allow.
