Albion's Sean Keogh joins Southend United on month-long loan | OneFootball

Albion left-back Sean Keogh has joined National League side Southend United on a month-long loan. According to TheArgus.co.uk, the 20-year-old will continue his development under Kieron Dyer at Roots Hall.

Dyer said today he was close to two signings ahead of a home game against Barrow, with Keogh among them.

The defender is set to be available for fixtures against Eastleigh, Fylde, Boston and Halifax. It appears the loan will end shortly before Southend visit Worthing on October 27.

Keogh made 23 Premier League 2 appearances last season as Shannon Ruth’s under-21s won the title via the play-offs.

His move follows fellow full-back Charlie Tasker’s temporary switch. The right-back has made a bright start to a season-long loan at Rochdale.

Dyer, who occasionally operated as a wing-back, won 33 England caps and went to the 2002 World Cup and 2004 Euros.

Albion sporting director Mike Cave said the Southend spell offers Keogh a valuable chance to add first-team experience after being a key figure for the under-21s.
