Another player who shared his thoughts on this crunch match was the defender Alejandro Balde, who appeared in a recent interview with the club’s media, the highlights of which have been reported by Mundo Deportivo.

Talking about this match, the fullback believed the extra time their opponents had to play in the UCL midweek will not impact them in the league match on Sunday too much:

“The other day they went into extra time, and they might be a little more tired, but I’m sure they’ll be ready for Sunday. Losing that way is tough, but we are all professionals. These things happen. As professionals, we have to be able to perform at the highest level every three days.”

The Spaniard also highlighted one particular aspect of his game that he wanted to improve:

“I could score more goals. I’m a player who gets forward a lot, and it’s a goal of mine to score more. Providing assists is good—I have eight or nine this year—but I could score a few more… [I should] play a bit more inside or take more shots.”

The Barcelona defender also highlighted the high level at which the youngsters in his team are playing:

“We are very young. People don’t realize what players aged 17, 18, or 19 are achieving. People have gotten a bit too used to it and think what Lamine is doing is normal. It’s not normal.”

There is no doubt that Alejandro Balde is having a very good season after having not been at his best for a significant part of the last season. Hopefully, he will be able to add more goals to his game and will thus be able to further help his team going forward.
