Liverpool spent a record £450m in the summer transfer window - with Richard Hughes overseeing a landmark campaign.
The Reds had largely opted to sit out the previous few windows - saving up their resources to make an almighty splash in the summer just gone.

Premier League title-holders Liverpool broke the British transfer record TWICE - spending £116m on Florian Wirtz and committing to a £125m deal for Alexander Isak.
But even more top signings were recruited by Hughes and head coach Arne Slot - with Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike and Giorgi Mamaradashvili among the headline arrivals.
It leaves Liverpool in a very strong position to defend their Premier League title - with Slot having a much deeper squad than the one that claimed the 20th top-flight victory in the Reds’ history.
There were several departures too; Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have left the frontline while others including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton, Ben Doak and Nat Phillips have also walked through the exit door.
The squad is now in state of flux - as Slot attempts to pick the best lineup possible on a consistent basis and bed in the new signings as quickly as possible.
The transfer blueprint has already won the seal of approval from at least one title-winner in the shape of Alexis Mac Allister.
Asked by TNT Sports where this was the best transfer window of all time - the Argentina player was in NO DOUBT that Hughes had completed deals for quality acquisitions.
