Alisson and Jasna celebrate return to the Brazil squad

“Longing comes and goes.” This popular saying does not apply to two big names in Brazilian beach soccer when it comes to their feelings for the Brazilian National Team. Pivot Alisson, from Rio Grande do Norte and a world champion in the sixth title in 2024, and defender Jasna, from Rio de Janeiro, have been called up again after spending a long time away from the Canarinha, and they do not hide that they missed the pleasure of wearing the green and yellow jersey.

The last time Alisson played for Brazil was in the final of the last Copa América, in March 2025, when the National Team became champion and secured its place at last year’s FIFA World Cup in Seychelles, where it went on to win its seventh world title, although without Alisson in the squad. Since then, he has dedicated himself even more to earning back his place and being called up again to defend the Canarinha, which has now happened.

“I am very happy and very grateful for the work; the reward has come, and now I have to make the most of this opportunity. I had been out of the National Team for a year, but thank God I’m coming back. Now I have to keep doing my work at the Nations Cup and give my all. We are prepared. Now it’s about placing everything in God’s hands so that He can bless us and we can come away with this victory for our nation,” said Alisson.

Another player who also had to overcome a period away was the experienced Jasna, one of the leaders of Rose Andrade’s team. She is now experiencing her first call-up under the command of the new head coach of the Women’s National Team.

“The expectations were high after being out for almost a year because of something that was almost fatal for me. I already know Rose, I worked with her at São Pedro, she is an excellent professional, an excellent person, and I’m sure good things are going to happen here with her in charge of the National Team. My expectations are always high because it’s my return, there are new girls, youth, together with experienced players, so I think expectations are high for this competition. I’m very happy to be back with the National Team and especially in beach soccer,” celebrated Jasna.

Both national teams trained on Tuesday afternoon (15) at Arena Guariroba, in Ceilândia, where the Nations Cup will take place from September 17 to 20. On Wednesday, the teams will have their official training session, the last one before their debut. Alisson and his teammates will face Peru in the opening round, while Jasna and the women’s team will take on the Brasília Select Team.
