Alisson attended Corinthians’ training ground on Monday but was kept out of drills and medicals, as the football department did not allow him to participate while his loan deal with São Paulo is not finalised.
According to Globo.com, president Osmar Stabile is reluctant to meet São Paulo’s terms. These include a R$ 1.5 million loan fee, R$ one million paid upfront at signing, and a R$ 1.5 million bonus if he plays at least 45 minutes in 20 or more matches.
Stabile is willing to cover Alisson’s full wages and secure an end of year option to buy, but he does not want to pay a loan fee. Ongoing cash flow issues mean Corinthians currently lack the funds to finalise the deal.
São Paulo’s new president, Harry Massis, confirmed the talks last week and said he was awaiting the R$ one million payment to release the player. It has not arrived. At Estádio Benitão in Rio Claro, where Corinthians beat Velo Clube 1-0 in the Paulistão, executive Marcelo Paz said there were still bureaucratic matters to resolve.
Alisson no longer wants to play for São Paulo and welcomes the chance to reunite with coach Dorival Júnior, who requested his signing. Under Dorival at the Tricolor, he moved from forward to a more defensive midfield role.
