Corinthians are still facing a financial hurdle to complete the loan of São Paulo midfielder Alisson, as they do not currently have R$ one million in cash required to secure his release until the end of 2026.
The club are prioritising other obligations, notably the reworked deal with Toluca for Pedro Raul. The fee rose from five million dollars, about R$ 24.4 million, to at least eight million dollars, about R$ 42.8 million, payable from 2025 to 2028.
Two instalments have been settled in 2025, with seven remaining, two in 2026, two in 2027 and three in 2028. Corinthians are also seeking a solution to the Talleres debt for Rodrigo Garro, around R$ 32 million, which could trigger another transfer ban. The first payment under the RCE is due in March, equal to four percent of February revenues.
Corinthians football executive Marcelo Paz said: "There is, in fact, a negotiation under way for Alisson, and it is quite advanced. The numbers revealed by São Paulo’s president are true. The case is now at the stage of resolving bureaucratic issues so we can take a further step," he told Cazé TV.
Corinthians have accepted São Paulo’s terms, which require R$ one million up front and R$ 500 thousand in the second half of 2026, totalling R$ 1.5 million for the loan. The club would pay Alisson’s full wages, with a further R$ 1.5 million due if a minimum appearances target is met, plus an extra fee should he feature in a Majestoso.
