There’s an absolute highlight coming up! On Sunday, 18 January, the FC Bayern 2026 Legends Cup takes place at SAP Garden in Munich. Football nostalgics in particular will get their money's worth at the tournament, which is set up in the style of old-school indoor football competitions. Numerous legends of world football will be competing and aiming to prove they still have what it takes. The FCB squad includes Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry, Lothar Matthäus and Jürgen Klinsmann, among others..

The other teams will also be coming with top-class players and former global stars. For example, Mats Hummels, Mladen Petrić and Roman Weidenfeller will be playing for Borussia Dortmund. Eintracht Frankfurt will be represented by Alexander Meier and Oka Nikolov, among others. The European teams also boast numerous legends – Vincenzo Iaquinta will feature for Juventus, Rubén de la Red and José Callejón for Real Madrid Leyendas, and Shaun Maloney and Stiliyan Petrov for Celtic.

2026 Legends Cup – match schedule

The six participating teams will be divided into two preliminary round groups. FC Bayern will face Juventus and Eintracht Frankfurt in Group A. Real Madrid Leyendas, Borussia Dortmund and Celtic will play in Group B. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals – the winners of Group A will face the runners-up of Group B, while the runners-up of Group A will play against the winners of Group B. The two winners of the semi-finals will qualify for the final, which will take place after the third-place play-off.
