Already out, São Paulo beat Bahia in final round of the Brasileiro Under-17

São Paulo ended its campaign in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship with a victory. Already eliminated, the Tricolor defeated Bahia this Tuesday, 1-0, at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia (SP), in the 19th and final round of the first phase of the tournament. Brenno scored the goal for the home team, while goalkeeper Carlos saved a penalty in stoppage time.

Standings

Neither São Paulo nor Bahia qualified for the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. The São Paulo team finished their campaign in 11th place, with 29 points, while the Bahia team ended in 18th place, with nine points. See below the final campaigns of both teams:

The goal of the match

The first goal of the match came five minutes into the second half. João Bispo received the ball on the right side and crossed into the six-yard box. Brenno rose unmarked and headed the ball in, opening the scoring for São Paulo.

In stoppage time, Bahia had the chance to equalize with a penalty kick, but Carlos dove to the left corner and secured São Paulo's victory.
