Having arrived at Roma last summer, the Brazilian full-back has quickly become an indispensable lynchpin in Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, providing balance and power down the flank.

His league performances have also convinced Brazil’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to firmly focus on the Giallorossi’s number 43 for tomorrow’s friendly against France in Boston.

In the pre-match press conference, Ancelotti answered a few questions about the lineup that will take to the field in the United States, confirming the Giallorossi’s presence in the starting eleven.

Ancelotti’s comments, as reported by ESPN, read: “Basically, you want to know who’s playing tomorrow (laughs)… I have a doubt about the defense, to be honest. Léo Pereira, Wesley, and Douglas Santos will play.”
