Manchester City striker Erling Haaland couldn’t help but rave about his experience in one of Europe’s top cities during his ongoing summer holiday.
As the off-season break continues for City’s stars, the Norwegian forward has been travelling across Europe in recent weeks following the club’s relatively early exit from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Having seemingly returned to top form and fitness during the tournament Stateside, Haaland has since been enjoying a well-earned rest — and taking time to explore some of Europe’s most iconic and popular destinations.
Haaland was part of the City squad that ultimately fell to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the round of 16 of FIFA’s expanded Club World Cup format. While the team as a whole failed to meet expectations, the 24-year-old was a standout performer, registering four goal contributions in four matches and showcasing the clinical finishing supporters have grown accustomed to.
Following the competition, Haaland immediately began his summer break with visits to his home country of Norway and the Spanish island of Ibiza. He has since been spotted in the Italian capital of Rome, where he participated in a Dolce & Gabbana event alongside his long-time partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen.
Accompanied by a series of photos documenting his experience in the Italian city, Erling Haaland said on Instagram, “Rome is without doubt one of the most beautiful cities i’ve ever been to! And the food? Omg! Incredible.”
The Manchester City striker continued, “I’m enjoying the summer! Thanks D&G and the city of Rome for making the time here smooth. I love Italy!”
Haaland’s partnership with Dolce & Gabbana, one of the world’s most recognised luxury fashion houses, signals a shift in his brand off the pitch as he continues to build his profile far beyond the Etihad Stadium.
From a club perspective, the player’s summer schedule remains in line with City’s preparations for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. Pep Guardiola’s squad are due to return to training on July 28, with a pre-season friendly already scheduled against Palermo in Sicily on August 9 — meaning Haaland’s Italian stay may not be his last this summer.
With plenty of transfer speculation and reshuffling expected ahead of the new season, City fans will be hoping Haaland returns refreshed, focused, and ready to lead the line once again. His form in the United States hinted at a resurgence following a somewhat injury-hit end to the last Premier League campaign.
