Cardiff City's defeat at the hands of Bradford City last weekend kicked the Bluebirds off the summit of League One - and also ended the last remaining unbeaten record in the third tier. The Bantams have been in great nick and Graham Alexander's side proved too hot to handle for Cardiff, who slipped to a 3-1 home defeat. Elsewhere, top flight Chelsea stumbled to a first league reverse of 2025/26 against Manchester United, while Bristol City were out-gunned by struggling Oxford United and suffered their first loss in the second tier. With the Blues, the Robins and the Bluebirds out of the equation, there are now five teams across the Premier League, Championship and League Two yet to swallow the bitter pill of a league loss this season. In the top flight, reigning champions and current leaders Liverpool are joined by Crystal Palace in their own mini 'Unvanquished Club', while Middlesbrough and Coventry are yet to be bettered in the Championship. Perhaps most impressively of all, Gillingham have lost none of their opening nine games in League Two thus far: the Gills bagging their sixth win of the season last weekend at Newport.
