Andreas Pereira on intensive recovery after lumbar trauma, Cruzeiro involvement uncertain | OneFootball

Palmeiras midfielder Andreas Pereira has been diagnosed with lumbar trauma, with no fracture, after a knee from Remo’s Zé Ricardo that led to a dismissal on Sunday 10.

According to Nosso Palestra, he is undergoing intensive treatment to try to face Cruzeiro in the Campeonato Brasileiro, the last match before the World Cup call-up.

He is the club’s only player on Brazil’s preliminary list and is following a recovery programme at the training ground and at home, with multiple medicines and injections used to reduce the localised pain.

There is still no decision on whether he will be included in the matchday squad.

Even so, the midfielder has a strong desire to play and help Palmeiras in their pursuit of the Brasileiro title.

Kick-off is at 21:00 Brasília time on 16/05.
