Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou showed a familiar side of his personality after becoming frustrated with reporters following Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw with Al-Khaleej.

Postecoglou’s side needed a second-half equaliser from Abdullah Al-Hamdan to rescue a point, but the Australian’s post-match exchange with the media caught the eye.

The former Hoops manager appeared particularly irritated when asked for a second time why his side had struggled in a game they were expected to win.

Postecoglou pointed towards Al-Nassr’s demanding schedule, with his players having played eight matches in just 28 days alongside significant travel and difficult conditions.

The result clearly frustrated the 61-year-old, but the suggestion his players had not given enough appeared to irritate him further.

It was a reaction Celtic supporters will recognise from Postecoglou’s two years in Glasgow. He was rarely reluctant to criticise his own side when performances fell below his standards, but had little patience for questions or criticism he felt ignored the wider context.

It is not the first time Postecoglou’s passion has been evident since his move to Saudi Arabia, having recently intervened in a confrontation involving Jack Hendry following Al-Nassr’s victory over Al-Ettifaq.
