Another Hull City signing confirmed with Tigers working on finalising signings of duo | OneFootball

Hull City have confirmed the signing of Sweden international Elliot Stroud from Mjällby AIF for a fee of around £3.5m.

The 24-year-old joins the Tigers from the Swedish top flight and has also represented his country at international level.

“I am super happy and super excited to get started here,” Stroud said. “When I first heard of the interest, it was the only thing I wanted to do.

“I spoke with the chairman and I got an even better impression of the club and everything around it.

“I have individual hopes to play at the highest level possible. When an opportunity like this comes, it’s not something you take lightly. To do it here in Hull is a very exciting opportunity.

“I had a fantastic time at Mjällby. We had an amazing run, won the cup, the league. I felt I was ready for the next chapter and I’m really looking forward to making some statements here as well.

“The World Cup was an amazing experience. To represent your country in a World Cup is the biggest honour you can have as a player. To play for the Sweden national team is something I am very proud of.

“It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League. I am super excited to get this opportunity and hopefully create something magical this season.”

Stroud becomes Hull’s latest signing, the seventh of the summer since winning promotion to the Premier League.

Hull are also hoping to complete the signings of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa and Rayo Vallecano centre-back Nobel Mendy.
