Another senior Barcelona star to be left out of squad for pre-season tour of Asia | OneFootball

A 2nd member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is expected to be left off the club’s travelling squad list for their upcoming tour of Asia.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Iñaki Peña as the player in question.

Barcelona, of course, currently find themselves with an overbooking in the goalkeeper department.

Following the summer signing of Joan García, Hansi Flick finds himself with four senior shot-stoppers at his disposal.

The plan is for Joan to be on the plane bound for Asia for the Blaugrana’s pre-season tour, alongside Wojciech Szczęsny.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, though, then rounding out the goalkeeper department will be something of a surprise figure.

As per a report from Sport, youngster Diego Kochen is the current favourite to act as the 3rd ‘keeper on Barca’s Asian tour.

This will mean not only Marc-André ter Stegen being absent, but also the aforementioned Iñaki Peña.

In the case of the latter, as much comes with a view to finding him a new club as soon as possible.
