Leeds United midfielder Anton Stach marked his Germany comeback with a playful Michael Jackson-themed Instagram message after featuring in a 4-3 win over Switzerland.

He earned a recall for March’s friendlies after impressing since joining from TSG Hoffenheim last summer. The player said in a post that he was proud to play for his country and revelled in the result.

Named among the substitutes at St Jakob-Park in Basel on Friday night, the 27-year-old came on in the 80th minute for his first cap since June 2022.

The game was level at 3-3 when he entered, and Florian Wirtz struck four minutes later to clinch victory with his second of the night.

Stach’s carousel was set to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, with a microphone graphic on one image and a row of ducks on another.

The Leeds midfielder has developed a reputation this season for inventive posts, and this latest effort kept the theme going after the final whistle.
