Argentina legend urges Atletico Madrid and Barcelona to find a solution for Julian Alvarez | OneFootball

The biggest news surrounding FC Barcelona in terms of their transfer targets still revolves around Julian Alvarez. Despite Atletico Madrid’s insistence on keeping him this summer, La Blaugrana continue to work on a solution to bring him over to the Catalan club.

In fact, in a recent interview, Argentine legend Maxi Rodriguez also weighed in on the ongoing situation. As quoted by MARCA, the former Atletico Madrid forward urged all involved parties to find a solution to this issue:

“I don’t know the exact situation. Everyone is always going to look after their own interests. The best thing is for a solution to be reached.”

However, he also acknowledged that the fans are not completely in the wrong either for being upset over this whole fiasco:

“Fans always want what’s best for their club, and Julián will want what’s best for himself. These situations have to be handled responsibly. But I can’t really comment because I don’t know the full picture.”

As for whether or not he considers this a difficult operation to resolve, Rodriguez chose to provide a diplomatic answer and simply stated that it is difficult for him to properly assess the situation without knowing all the details:

“I don’t know what each side’s position is exactly. It’s difficult to analyze or comment from the outside.”

Having formerly represented both the Argentinean National team and Atletico Madrid, Maxi Rodriguez has a lot of experience with both teams. Interestingly, those are the exact same two sides that Julian Alvarez currently plays for as well.

However, unlike Rodriguez, Alvarez does not seem to want to end his time in Spain playing for Atletico Madrid. Instead, as per several credible sources, his goal remains to play for Barcelona and the club is reportedly working on the operation in a way that will allow them to fairly negotiate terms with Atletico Madrid as well.
