Liverpool manager Arne Slot has explained his decision to restore Mohamed Salah to the starting lineup for the Premier League clash against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium ending short spell on the bench for the Egyptian star.

Salah had started on the sidelines in Liverpool’s 5-1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week , a decision that drew widespread debate from fans & pundits particularly after the forward’s run of 6 match without scoring in all competitions.

However Slot made it clear before kick off that the Egyptian remains central to Liverpool’s attacking plans. Speaking to TNT Sports, the Dutch coach said:

He added:

The Egyptian forward 32 has faced rare scrutiny over recent weeks after 6 game goal drought during which he has contributed just 1 assist.

The situation intensified when Salah removed all Liverpool related references from his profile on X following the Frankfurt match sparking speculation about his future.

Still Slot’s comments underline that the forward remains pillar of the project at Anfield.
