Arrascaeta equals Flamengo foreign appearance record in win over Santos | OneFootball

Arrascaeta reached a historic milestone for Flamengo, starting in the win over Santos on Sunday.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Uruguayan number 10 played his 369th match for the club, drawing level with Modesto Bría as the foreigner with the most appearances. The mark underlines his status as one of the club's great idols.

Bría starred for Flamengo from 1943 to 1953, then returned as coach in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Now Arrascaeta is consolidating his own legacy among the club's great foreign names.

Since joining in 2019, Arrascaeta has 101 goals and 110 assists. In that period he became the player with the most official titles in the club's history, alongside Bruno Henrique.

He could surpass Bría soon, with Flamengo facing Cusco on Wednesday in Copa Libertadores Group A. He should be available to head coach Leonardo Jardim for the match, which kicks off at 21:30 Brasília time at Estadio Garcilaso de la Vega in Peru.
