Arsenal have already signed one player from La Liga this summer, and a second could now be set to follow in the near future. The Premier League side have been chasing Cristhian Mosquera in recent weeks, and a deal with Valencia is looking closer to being completed.
It is taken for granted that Mosquera will leave Valencia this summer, with his contract at the Mestalla due to expire in less than 12 months’ time. Arsenal have moved quickly to position themselves as favourites to sign him, but so far, neither of their two offers have been close to Los Che’s asking price of €20m.
Arsenal want Mosquera as centre-back competition for William Saliba and Gabriel Maghalaes, and they could now be about to get him. As reported by MD, they are prepared to come close to Valencia’s €20m valuation.

It would be no surprise to see Mosquera leave Valencia this summer, with the club having made it clear that they do not want to lose him for free – which would almost certainly happen if he did not depart before the start of September. And while the money brought in would be handy, the situation would not be ideal for head coach Carlos Corberan.
Valencia have already lost Mosquera’s fellow centre-back from last season in Yarek Gasiorowski, who recently joined PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth almost €10m. Both players leaving would mean that Moctar Diakhaby and Cesar Tarrega are Corberan’s options for the 2025-26 campaign, with there unlikely to be a way back for Cenk Ozcacar and Eray Comert, who were both out on loan in 2024-25.
It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal complete a deal for Mosquera, but should an offer of €20m be received by Valencia, it would be no surprise to see it accepted.
