Arsenal star a doubt for West Ham game says Arteta | OneFootball

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he is not sure whether defender Gabriel will be fit to play against West Ham this weekend.

The Brazilian was forced off in the Champions League win over Olympiacos on Wednesday.

And while Arteta says it is not a serious problem, he insists he is yet to know whether Gabriel will be fit enough to feature this weekend.

“We will have to wait and see after training,” Arteta said on whether he will be available. “We will have to see how everyone is, but we are not too concerned about him.”

Fellow defender Piero Hincapie is also set to miss out again with a groin problem but is in line to return after the international break.

“We’ve been trying to do everything as fast as possible [to get him fit], but this game came too fast,” Arteta said. “Now we have an international break, so hopefully, after that, he will have a couple of sessions with the team and be ready to go.”

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Noni Madueke are also out with longer-term injuries.
