Arsenal ‘to make’ January 2027 move for Paz amid Real Madrid clause | OneFootball

Arsenal are monitoring Como midfielder Nico Paz and could make a formal approach in January 2027, ElDesmarque reports. Any pursuit is complicated by Real Madrid’s continued control of the 22-year-old Argentine’s future.

In June, Como paid €60m to acquire 100 per cent of Paz’s rights, with Madrid inserting a unilateral €80m buy-back clause active in summer 2027, replacing a previous €9m option. Madrid allowed him to remain in Italy at the player’s request.

If Arsenal submit an offer, Madrid can first re-sign Paz under that clause, then decide whether to keep him or sell him on.

Since leaving Madrid in 2024, Paz has thrived under head coach Cesc Fabregas. He produced six goals and nine assists in 35 Serie A appearances in 2024/25.

He then posted 12 goals and seven assists in 35 league games, helping Como reach the Champions League, where he featured against RB Leipzig.

This season he scored in a 4-1 victory over Genoa on matchday three and continues as the side’s primary number 10.

Under contract until June 2028, Paz’s next steps include staying at Como, an Arsenal bid that would force a decision, or a direct return to the Bernabeu.
