Arsenal face a stern test of their title credentials on Sunday as they welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side have made a strong start to the season, which sees them sitting second in the table. They will be confident of securing a result, having won their last two home league games against the Citizens.
The Gunners have a chance to make a major statement in this fixture. A positive result would see manager Mikel Arteta become the first manager in history to go five league games unbeaten against Pep Guardiola. With a formidable home record behind them, the north London outfit will have full belief they can continue their recent dominance in this clash.
Mikel Arteta faces an anxious wait over the fitness of his captain, Martin Ødegaard, who is a doubt with a shoulder problem. Ben White is also doubtful to feature.
The team will definitely be without long-term absentees Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. However, William Saliba is expected to return to the heart of the defence.
In attack, the hosts will look to the in-form Viktor Gyökeres, who will be aiming to score in the third consecutive time in a Premier League game at home.
Possible Arsenal starting XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Merino, Zubimendi, Rice; Eze, Madueke, Gyokeres
The Premier League fixture will be played at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 21 September 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR, with coverage starting at 4:00 pm BST.
