Arthur trains in surfing in Santa Catarina as Grêmio midfielder sets new goal | OneFootball

Arthur has set himself a new target, learning to surf. The Grêmio midfielder posted footage on Monday of a training session at a park in Garopaba, Santa Catarina, after visiting in December for a short spell of lessons.

According to Globo.com, he was introduced to the facility by a commercial partner at the park and a friend. Surfland Brasil communications head Mário Flores Neto said Arthur trained for two or three days, starting on basic waves and reaching intermediate sessions.

He is surrounded by friends who surf, including Jailson, the former Grêmio player, who caught his first waves on a beach in Vigo, Spain, while playing there until last year.

Arthur also has a close relationship with professional surfer Gabriel Medina, a three-time world champion and Olympic medallist, whom he met through Neymar. The trio have spent holidays together.

Since returning from his break, Arthur has not surfed again because of Grêmio’s training and match schedule. He has eight appearances this season, with one goal. His loan with the Tricolor runs until mid-season.
