Aston Villa turned on the style with a 4-0 dismantling of Roma

Emi Buendía set Unai Emery's side en route to a first-half blitz with a taken free kick before Jacob Ramsey's sweeping finish two minutes later doubled their advantage.

The Villans added a third before the interval courtesy of Ollie Watkins meeting a cross from the left by Buendía to compound the Giallorossi's half-time misery.

Donyell Malen rounded things off at Walsall's Bescot Stadium with a bustling run into the penalty area before firing across Mile Svilar in the 85th minute.

Both teams are back in friendly action on Saturday with Roma taking on Everton while Villa will travel to Marseille for their final Premier League warm-up fixture.
