Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Julian Alvarez has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in the transfer market heading into 2026.
Several top clubs across Europe want the 25-year-old forward for next summer. FC Barcelona have identified him as their priority target to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also taken an interest in the World Cup winner, and more recently, reports suggest that PSG are also looking at the attacker as an option for the summer.
However, Atletico Madrid are not especially anxious about Alvarez’s future despite the growing interest in Alvarez.
Indeed, the Rojiblancos have zero interest in selling the 25-year-old forward, as was made clear by club president Enrique Cerezo in a recent media interaction.
“Julian Alvarez is an Atleti player and will remain an Atleti player, I have no doubt about it,” Cerezo said, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

Alvarez has a contract with Atletico Madrid until 2030 and a release clause of €500 million. He is an integral part of Diego Simeone’s plans for the team and has been delivering consistently on the pitch.
Moreover, with the arrival of the Apollo investment, which will inject more than €1.3 billion, the club’s sporting and financial strength will grow in the coming seasons.
So, the belief is that not only do they need to make any big sales, but they will also be in a position to make sizeable investments to strengthen the squad and compete for the biggest trophies, to match Alvarez’s ambitions.
As such, the Rojiblancos are clear. They are not considering the departure of Alvarez, despite strong interest from clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea, and PSG.
