BILD and Sky Sports report that Finn Dahmen, Max Rosenfelder and Hennes Behrens will be among the new names when Jürgen Klopp announces his first Germany squad tomorrow. Both defenders have never been included in the senior national team setup until this point.
Freiburg’s center-back Rosenfelder is yet to win the battle to play regularly alongside the 2014 World Cup winner Matthias Ginter. Despite losing his place to Philipp Lienhart in the last couple of games, BILD reports that Klopp reportedly decided to give the former Germany U21 international a chance.
Meanwhile, FC Augsburg’s Dahmen and Behrens are also expected to be named in Klopp’s first nomination. The goalkeeper was part of Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers, but he’s yet to play a game at international level. Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg reported on Wednesday night that he'll be included in the latest squad if nothing extraordinary happens.
The 21-year-old left-back has never been part of any youth Germany national team setup. After his debut Bundesliga campaign ended in relegation with Heidenheim, he joined Augsburg on a permanent move from TSG Hoffenheim.
Both players played big roles in Augsburg’s sensational start to the season that saw them top the Bundesliga standings for the very first time at the end of matchday 2. Rosenfelder’s Freiburg are even doing better with six wins out of six in all competitions, although he has only played 165 minutes.
